As we observe Remembrance Sunday on the 9th of November, the Taunton Deane Shooting Association will be closed for the day to allow our members and the community time to reflect, remember, and honour the sacrifices made by those who served and continue to serve.
Remembrance Sunday is a solemn occasion, marked by reflection and gratitude. Across the country, people pause to honor the bravery and selflessness of countless men and women who fought for our freedoms. The red poppy, a powerful symbol worn by many, represents not only those who have fallen in the line of duty but also serves as a reminder of the resilience and sacrifices of armed forces personnel and their families.
It is a day to come together in unity and silence, acknowledging both the courage of those who have come before and the hope for a more peaceful world. Whether standing at a cenotaph, participating in a moment of silence, or reflecting quietly at home, we remember their legacy with respect and gratitude.
As a club, we take this time to honor their memories, reflecting on how their dedication has allowed us to enjoy the freedoms we hold dear today. We encourage all members to find a way to pay tribute, whether by attending a local service or reflecting on the meaning of this important day in their own way.
The Taunton Deane Shooting Association will resume regular club activities following Remembrance Sunday. For more information or any inquiries, please visit tdsashooting.co.uk or reach out to us directly.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
