If you’ve ever wanted to get into shooting sports—especially .22 rimfire target shooting—then look no further than the Taunton Deane Shooting Association (TDSA).
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a returning shooter, TDSA offers a safe, welcoming, and well-equipped environment to enjoy and develop your skills with rimfire firearms.
🔎 What is Rimfire Shooting?
Rimfire firearms, like those chambered in .22 Long Rifle (.22LR), are incredibly popular for good reason:
- Low recoil makes them ideal for beginners
- Ammunition is affordable and widely available
- Precision shooting helps develop strong fundamentals
- Quiet operation compared to larger calibres
- Great for both informal target shooting and competitive disciplines
At TDSA, rimfire shooting is one of our core disciplines—and we have a growing community of members who enjoy everything from relaxed plinking to serious marksmanship.
🏠About the TDSA Range
Our club is based in Taunton, and we operate from a 25-yard indoor range, fully suited for rimfire rifles, black powder, and airguns.
- We use NRA-standard targetry
- Sessions are run under the supervision of experienced members
- Members have access to club firearms, including the popular Ruger 10/22, Bruno, ANSCHĂśTZ and others
- Safety and responsible shooting are at the heart of everything we do
We also host air rifle sessions, black powder nights, and other events throughout the year.
