Avon and Somerset Police Firearms Licensing Department have announced that their licensing system is going digital to speed up processing times and enhance efficiency.
From 28th April 2025, all new grant applications will need to be submitted online only. Paper applications will no longer be accepted.
📧 What You Need To Do Now
To prepare for this change, all certificate holders are asked to update their contact details by emailing:
👉 firearmslicensingbureau@avonandsomerset.police.uk
Please provide your full name and certificate number, along with your current email address so they can update their records and add you to the new digital system.
📝 Grant Applications
From 28th April 2025:
- Only digital grant applications will be accepted
- All documentation must be submitted through the Avon and Somerset Police online portal
- Applications missing required documents will be rejected
🔁 Renewals Are Going Digital Too
While no date has been announced yet, Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that the renewals process will also move online soon. More information will be shared when available.
